Sabor a Colombia is a full-service Colombian restaurant nestled in the Fontainebleau area of Miami, offering a slice of Colombia through hearty, authentic dishes served in a lively, informal setting. This spot is best known for generous portions of classic Colombian fare like the Bandeja Paisa with its combination of rice, beans, pork skin, steak, and plantains, or the comforting Sancocho de Costilla, a traditional beef rib stew that comes highly recommended by regulars. If you’re looking for something familiar yet substantial, their fried mojarra and various grilled meats deliver on flavor and quantity.

The atmosphere leans towards vibrant and cozy, with decor that evokes Colombian culture without feeling overdone, creating a welcoming environment for groups and families. It’s a popular destination on weekends and weekday evenings, often buzzing with local families and friends who come hungry for both food and social connection. Because of this, wait times can be longer, especially when the place fills up, so arriving a bit earlier or prepared to join a waitlist can smooth the experience.

Service here reflects an earnest, warm energy—staff tend to be friendly and accommodating, even during busy stretches, with a sense that they genuinely want guests to enjoy their meals. One of the practical pluses for families is the restaurant’s flexibility in hosting birthday gatherings and accommodating children, making it feel like a neighborhood spot where celebrations happen naturally and comfortably.

For those exploring the menu, beyond the main dishes, the Patacón con Hogao offers a good introduction to Colombian sides, pairing fried green plantains with a savory tomato and onion sauce. Breakfast options like Calentado, a mix of rice, beans, steak and pork skin, set a solid foundation for a filling start to the day if you’re there in the morning hours. Beverages range from typical sodas to Colombian classics like natural fruit juices and panela water, adding an authentic touch to the meal.

Overall, Sabor a Colombia suits diners who appreciate generous portions of traditional Colombian cooking in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Those who enjoy a bustling environment where the volume rises with the crowd and music occasionally edges toward loud will feel right at home. It’s a solid choice for anyone wanting to share a taste of Colombia’s comfort food staples without the need for formal dining.

Food is great. Never get disappointed and every time I order something different. So far Sancocho is my favorite, however all dishes are very good. Sometimes the music is very loud, on weekdays is very busy and you must have to wait to be seated and service gets slow. However, employees seems to be happy; overall is an excellent option if you are looking for authentic Colombian food

This was my first time here and I enjoyed it. Portions are really big, I could only eat half. The place is decorated really nice.

Really tasty, big amounts great prices, I had a small sancocho de costilla, my daughter had the carne azada with rice beans and salad, and my grandson a kid steak with fries, 1 pontoon, 1 sprite and a passion fruit juice and it all came out to be $48 + $10 tip, I think it was very reasonable gor how expensive nowadays thins are, the deco was nice and cozy.

I celebrated both my son's birthday here with lunch, party of 12, a stroller and a 10 yr old. It was on a Sunday and I was so stressed out about the wait, and the tables. They're no reservations here, but if you get there and get on the waiting list, they will accommodate you. It came out AMAZING!!! They allowed me to take a birthday cake, balloons, sing happy birthday, and the food was delicious. Their plates cost from $15 to $30, but you can split one between two people. The food is delicious. Soups, salads, steak, fish, shrimp, chicken, natural juices, cold beer, they got it! Desserts too! I recommend you try the typical Colombian plate "Bandeja Paisa" or the fried fish,"Mojarra Frita" their delicious beef stew: "Sancocho", their seafood rice "Arroz con Mariscos", or their shrimp cocktail. Share a "Picada" enough for four, that's a plate with sliced chicken, steak, plantains, potatoes, pork grinds, fries and sausage. Come with the family, come alone. Excellent customer service, good food, and great prices.I always go back again and highly recommend.
